Grain Elevator and Processing Society

GEAPS leadership came to our team expressing concern that members and users were hindered by its outdated WordPress website. It was expressed that users had difficulty locating resources and that the responsive behavior for mobile was barely present. My team was tasked with overhauling the full design interface while updating the information architecture to simplify access to public and members-only content.

Additional requirements for the redesign and rebuild included merging the content of the separate GEAPS Exchange annual event website into the new website, and to improve the user experience for the website’s main integrations: iMIS AMS (Association Management System), which handled all of the member, chapter, and payment data and transactions, and the TopClass LMS (Learning Management Service), used to produce member CEUs (Continuing Education Units) and credentials.

I led the extensive discovery, strategic, and design phases for the endeavor. This included multiple stakeholder engagement meetings, content reviews, and functional and technical audits. These findings were the foundation for a revised information architecture and navigation, integration requirements, and content migration planning. Multiple wireframes and design concepts were presented and refined, producing a final website design and style guide. The new design guides users to personalized content based on their profession.
